Dear My Love Bijou Ribbon Loafer Review

I got another review!

This is for DearMyLove's Bijou Ribbon Loafer Shoes. I really love them!
Shoe comfort is really important to me in j-fashion. If it's not comfy, I'm gonna end up not wearing it and it'll just collect dust in my closet. I have an embarrassing amount of shoes that I barely wear because of this.

Heel and Platform Height
These shoes are platforms, with a heel of 10 cm or 4 inches. The shoe is a platform, so thanks to the extra padding in the front, it feels more like wearing a 2 inch heel. If you are unfamiliar with wearing platforms or heels, then these may feel strange or quite tall. I would say that these would be a great starter platform. Always be careful wearing platforms, but I think for these, the platforms are not too high.

The platforms were also not so skinny, and felt much more stable than other platforms I have worn. I didn't really feel like I was going to wobble on these. They're also lightweight, so walking around felt like no effort.

Comfort
I'm used to Demonia platforms, and those are often not so comfy. Some styles yes, but usually they have a hard sole, which after some time, will hurt to walk in. This DML shoe has a slightly more padded sole, so even after walking for extended periods, my feet did not get sore. It also helps that this shoe does not have such an incline, so you're not putting so much pressure on the balls of your feet. I walked around in these for 6 hours, grocery shopping and at the mall, and didn't feel discomfort at the end of it. I did take some breaks to sit, but I think I could have kept going for a while.

If you're standing for some time, these can get a little bit painful. Personally, I didn't mind it as I was used to worse platforms, but it's something to take note of.

The toe box of the shoe also feels a bit roomy. I have standard width feet, but I prefer shoes with extra toe box width since I have slight bunions. It's also just better for your feet overall. The width of these shoes was no problem for me, and felt almost as roomy as the wider sneakers I use for work.

However, I cannot claim these would fit well for Wide feet sizes as I would not have the experience.

Design

I actually really like the design of these, and I prefer the strap for the shoe as well. I originally wanted the classic bijoux loafers from DML, but I've always worried about the platforms slipping off because of the lack of strap.

The bijou design on the strap is so pretty, but also does not get in the way!

My only complaint is that the straps are a little bit hard to hook under when you wear it. It's not a tight fit exactly, but it's kind of a struggle to hook in. But at the same time, I don't entirely mind this? I've had many a strap unhook in shoes, so maybe this is a good thing. I won't take off a point for this.

As for height, I'd say its a good balance of comfy while also making you feel tall.

This shoe is also versatile. I feel like this will be the only shoe I really need to wear for jirai kei or even ryousangata. You can take off the shoe clips which is nice, but I prefer to keep them on.

Overall
I like these. I give em a 10/10.
Sometimes having a cute outfit can get really exhausting at the end of the day.
I don't have too many sensory issues, but I'm not so great at tolerating uncomfortable fashion in general.

I hope my review could give you insight on these, if you were considering these shoes!
